Music, Art and Growth

I remember ten years ago, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do in life. I was just obtaining my managing license in Cosmetology and thinking..Yea, I got this. But the truth is..I had nothing. I didn't know anything more about what I wanted in life than the day I was born. I kept thinking I had some sort of control, but I never had control, not the kind of control I thought I had anyway. The universe is so much greater than I, and greater than I'll ever be. The force of the universe that is greatest is the force who controls the things we have no control over. To think, that very force, so great and powerful could acknowledge and recognize me, and most of all, love me...is a humbling thought. I am very small. It just took me longer than I thought to realize that. I can honestly say, one aspect of my life that has brought clarity and growth is my work..Music and Art has humbled me and helped me realize my purpose. In many ways music has helped me become more aware of myself and more aware of life going on around me. Art has helped me be open, profound, expressive of emotional baggage, and ultimately helped me begin a healing process that was long overdue. If I could thank music and art for what they've done for me I would, but God being the master of those things is who makes all things possible. So I thank God for creating me and for giving me the ability to create. Happy Mother's Day weekend, everyone!
